Labor Day

Some updates on the events of the Blomquist household...

Last weekend we went to Nicasio Ranch with friends Cindy, Burt and Donna to see Uncle Willie K.  Willie K is a hawaiian musician, and the show opened with some hawaiian dancers.  It was a great show, and a great time.

Labor day weekend was PACKED full of events.  First was dinner at Great Grandma and Grandpa's to see cousins Amy and Tom who were in town from Pennsylvania.  Next, was building shelves in the garage with Great Grandpa and Great Uncle Greg.  Then was the Morningside block party.

There were also a few trips to the park in there as well.

Wine Tasting

Dan's company had a wine tasting event in Calistoga last weekend at an actual castle.  We all went, and had a blast.  We took a short tour and then had wine tasting and lunch in the great hall.  Here are some pics.

The weekend prior, Elanor and I went to South Lake Tahoe to attend my friend Michelle's baby shower.  Michelle is due in October, almost 1 year after Ella's birthday.  She is going to have a girl and her name will be Corinne.  Here is a picture of Elanor with Michelle and Michelle's mom, Donna.

The baby shower was really fun, and it was great to see Michelle.  I hadn't been to Tahoe in a while, it really is a beautiful place.

Here are some more pictures and videos of Elanor over the past couple of weeks.  The ones where she is in the purple dress were taken on her 9 month birthday!  So basically, Elanor is "crawling" and starting to cruise a bit...keeps us entertained...and BUSY!

Road Trip

We have taken several road trips over the past few weeks, which I thought you may wish to see pics of.  First of all, we returned to the scene of the original crime...the Pelican Inn; where almost 2 years ago, Dan and I were married.  It is still as beautiful as when we were there.  We enjoyed a cheese plate and a pint. Elanor enjoyed watching the other people and of course managed to make a few friends.

This past weekend, we went to San Luis Obispo to visit friends Michelle & Chris and then went further south to Riverside to see family.  It was a long ride (1100 miles in 4 days), but Ella did really well and we had a blast.  We rented a car to save the wear and tear on our own vehicles.  We were riding in luxury in our Ford Crown Victoria...

Once we made it to Riverside we went for a walk.  The community Dan's step grandmother lives in is very unique.  It was fun to see the different style houses.

The long drive and the hot weather (it was over 105 during the day) made for a tired Elanor.

The next day we went and visited Ella's Great Grandma Lue in Sun City.  We had a great lunch.

The final day of our roadtrip ended with a wonderful dinner in Riverside with Elanor's Great Grandpa Tom.

You would think after 8 hours of driving Ella would be grumpy and upset.  However, these pictures were taken at the end of the ride.  She is such a joy.

There were many more people we met and saw this past weekend including Great Grandma Ann, Uncle Larry, and Cousin Stacy, not to mention the plethora of doggies which Elanor absolutely loved.  Callie, Tom Tom, and Dooly provided countless hours of entertainment.

It's been too long...there are so many new things going on that we have to share...

For Easter, Grandma Cindy sent the adorable green hat and flower headband in these pictures.  Putting them on is so cute but they last pretty much just for the pictures and then they somehow have difficulty staying on.

 Ella turned 7 months old! Can you believe it?  I can't.  Time flies.  It is getting difficult to get her picture with the frog, but we are still trying.

If it would please stop raining, we could get some more outdoor time in, but between rain storms we managed another trip to the park.  Ella seems to be most interested in just watching the other children, but she still does love to swing.

Ella is not quite yet crawling forward (she is mastering the backward movement), but she can still get around.  Even when you think she has gone and got herself stuck somewhere, she turns into Houdini and somehow finds a way out.  See for yourself...
