The beautiful December weather treated us well and allowed us to keep moving and keep exploring. So we were all excited to see January start off with wonderful weather as well, and we definitely took advantage. However, as I am sitting here writing this post, it is pouring rain outside, something that hasn't happened in a really long time, and something that Lydia really has never experienced. In fact, she keeps just standing at the window, trying to grab the water outside. It's adorable!
As a fun activity, we spent today looking and pictures and discussing some of the things we did this past month.
Dan started a new job! and he loves it. His commute is less than 5 minutes...actually the commute to drop the girls off at daycare in the morning is further than his office.
We went to Monterey! We decided last minute to take a long weekend to Monterey and see the aquarium before Dan started his new position. The warm January weather even allowed us some time at the beach.
Although it wasn't Liddy's first time at the beach, you can tell she just understands and is aware more. And the beach was no exception. It was like, hey, this is the beach not our front living room, how exciting! but REALLY exciting!
And Elanor, oh my, she was all over the place at the aquarium. It was hard to keep track of her! But she kept coming back to the tank with Dory, Nemo and Marlin. In fact, before we left the aquarium, we had to come back here a final time to give them a present (her paper with all the stamps she got that day walking around).
Getting a picture of Elanor, sitting still, looking at the camera...not an easy task
The best part of the Aquarium for me (and Liddy), was watching Liddy in the baby area by the water table. I have never seen her so excited about someTHING (instead of someONE) before. I couldn't believe how much fun she was having. I would have been happy watching her in this area all day...
And the waves. The first day at the aquarium I couldn't get Elanor to walk under them. The second day I couldn't get her to leave!
We have also been enjoying the spring-like weather while at home, playing outside. Elanor and Molly have been spending a lot of time together. All three love princesses and dressing up!
And Ella and Lydia are really starting to play together as well. Liddy wants to be just like her big sister. Always following her, trying to play with her and walk like her. Lydia's record right now is 12 steps. I'm sure next week she'll be running ;)
Ella and I walked across the northern half of the Golden Gate bridge. Actually, I can't believe this is true, but...I have never walked across the bridge! I am hoping to get a double stroller soon, and make it the whole way!
Lydia is learning to drive...
and shop!
and Ella has been learning yoga...
Both girls are amazing, and love having fun.
